Apolline:
Porchez says his objective with Apolline was mainly to obtain a horizontal emphasis. The original drawings, which were very small, began on tracing paper and were then digitized at larger sizes. The asymmetry of the serifs reinforce the writing rhythm. Porchez enlarged the Apolline family in 1995, when he added small caps, old style figures, lining figures, and many ligatures and ornaments. Apolline 2.0 received a Morisawa Award in 1993 (Japan).
